Common Conditions Service

The Common Conditions Service is a new service that allows our pharmacists to prescribe medication, following HSE protocols, for a specific list of common conditions.

The common conditions included in the service, and the age criteria are:

    How Does the Service Work?

Select your condition: Choose the specific minor ailment you need help with.

Submit your details: Complete and submit a short, digital pre-screening intake form.

Pharmacist review: A trained pharmacist will carefully review your medical information.

Team contact: A member of our pharmacy team will contact you directly. They will explain what the process involves, discuss potential outcomes, and outline our terms and conditions.

Private consultation: If you qualify for the service and wish to proceed, we will conduct the consultation in person. We always use our private consultation room to ensure absolute confidentiality.

Please note: Submitting the pre-screening questionnaire does not guarantee treatment.

What to Expect From the Service?

A trained pharmacist will carefully review your individual symptoms.

We provide a fully private consultation for all eligible patients.

Our team offers a clear explanation of your treatment options and helpful self-care advice.

Our pharmacist can issue a prescription for medication when they deem it clinically appropriate.

We provide clear guidance and a direct referral to your GP or hospital if you require further care.

    Various Eligibilty Criteria Apply

Our pharmacists are fully trained to provide this service and adhere to strict operational procedures and clinical protocols. If you do not fit the required criteria, or if your symptoms fall outside the inclusion guidelines, our pharmacist will still offer practical health advice.

In those cases, we will suggest an appropriate over-the-counter medication or refer you to another healthcare professional for further care.

Is There a Cost for the Consultation?

The Common Conditions Service costs a flat fee of €35. This private consultation fee applies whether or not the pharmacist issues a prescription. You do not need to pay anything until you arrive at the pharmacy for your appointment.

If our pharmacist prescribes any medicine, the cost of that medication is separate from the consultation fee. However, your Medical Card, Drugs Payment Scheme (DPS), or Long Term Illness Scheme (LTI) may cover the medication cost where applicable.

    Important Points to Note

Our team cannot treat every condition or patient under this specific service. We will only treat you under the Common Conditions Service when we know it is clinically appropriate and safe to do so.

If your symptoms fall outside our strict service criteria, our pharmacist will immediately advise you on the best next steps for your health.
